Paleolithic Age

The Paleolithic Age begins with the first signs of human activity, some three million years ago, and is represented by the Saint Colomban site in Carnac, one of the most ancient prehistoric sites in Brittany (dating from around 450,000 BC.) This is contemporary with the Menez Dregen site in Finistère where archaeologists found the oldest signs of fire in the region.
